Students will use visual aid comprehension pages to help them apply important reading strategies to real-world texts. These reproducible pages serve as tools for students to practice and improve their comprehension.

Rather than relying on multiple-choice questions, the class will feature constructed response questions, which require students to write answers, fostering deeper thinking and understanding. The curriculum used is aligned with current academic standards and are designed to help students develop strong reading comprehension skills.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Master's Degree in Education from American College of Education
I have had the wonderful privilege of teaching/ tutoring students in the area of phonics (Science of Reading) reading comprehension, ELA, and ESL. I have taught students of all ages, and academic skill levels, both online and in regular classroom settings. I believe that teaching should be fun and memorable. I love the challenge of making reading animated, engaging, and exciting, as it makes students want to learn. Students know when a teacher is passionate about teaching, and that passion influences them to enjoy learning. I have found that positive reinforcement, encouragement, and affirmation really give students the confidence that they need to step out and learn new skills and concepts. I am a life-long learner, and it is my desire to inspire that same passion and curiosity for learning in my students. I look forward to seeing you in my classroom. Additional Education Credentials: I have two Master's degrees through Liberty University in the areas of Counseling/ Human Services and an M.Ed. in Education from the American College of Education.
