US Grade 5 - 7
This 4-week class is a quick way to check in on a student's reading skills. Each week we focus on a new element of reading (fiction vs. nonfiction, identifying genre, and reading comprehension) and end the course with an assessment. Before Class *Students should come prepared with necessary materials During Class *The teacher will give a short lesson on the topic of the day and students will record information using a guided note sheet *Students will complete practice activities on the topic of the day (Blooket, online games, reading, etc.) *The teacher is available to help answer any questions :) **The instructor will send weekly progress reports each week on Fridays.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their reading comprehension skills by answering questions and participating in discussions.
Students will determine differences between fiction and nonfiction by completing a graphic organizer.
