Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 5
Beginner - Intermediate Level
Strong reading comprehension skills are essential for doing well in school. This class is specifically designed for students who may need help catching up, staying on track, or even pushing ahead in their reading abilities and understanding. Small group instruction is emphasized as it not only aids academic growth but is also a cost-effective alternative to one-on-one tutoring. Working in a group setting reduces individual stress and promotes learning from peers.

Throughout this program, students will develop strategies that are necessary to help them better understand what they are reading. They will engage in various activities that are aimed at improving reading fluency, expanding vocabulary, and mastering key reading comprehension strategies including identifying main ideas, analyzing details, making inferences, evaluating characters, and more.

Each class begins with an introduction to a specific reading comprehension strategy. We will then practice our skills by reading together. Students will take turns reading and answering questions.

The material provided is at a grade 3-4 grade reading level.

This is an ongoing class and students can come and go as needed.
