Description

Class Experience

Students will learn how to use reading comprehension skills and new vocabulary in order to solve problems and make decisions. Learners will develop critical thinking skills as they determine the best decisions to make on their quests.
I am a certified elementary teacher in the state of Missouri for grades 1-6. I have six years of classroom teaching experience in grades 1,3,4, and middle school. I have a special reading certification and bring over 20 years of clinical reading tutoring experience to the classroom.
Learners may review the vocabulary words before the class meeting. Optional homework: Learners may post a summary of their quest in the classroom and add any additional details for their version of the story that were not shared in class. Learners are also encouraged to submit their own quest starters for future class meetings.
A vocabulary list and any other printables needed will be provided by the teacher. No materials need to be supplied by the family. The vocabulary list does not need to be printed although it may be helpful to have the list open in another tab on the learner's desktop for reference.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
All quests are created by the teacher.
