Reading Code Skill Builders 6-Part Course

In this interactive class, learners will apply their knowledge of letters and sounds to crack the reading code through playing with words, developing their oral language skills, connecting their knowledge to reading 3 and 4 sound words, while growing their knowledge of short vowels, digraphs, and consonant blends. This class is perfect for your learner if they are able to name most of the 26 letters of the alphabet and state the most common sound for each letter. Learners should have some understanding of oral rhyme (e.g. bat/cat, chip, ship) to be successful in class.
This course is taught by a certified teacher with  primary (kindergarten to grade 3) and special education qualifications. 

Lesson 1 - short vowel, cvc, rhyme
Lesson 2 - short vowel, cvc, rhyme
Lesson 3 - ck ending digraph
Lesson 4 - beginning blends (-sn, -sp, -tr, -dr)
Lesson 5 - digraphs (-sh, -ch, -wh, -th)
Lesson 6 - open/closed syllables (short/long vowels)

The following is a breakdown of each session:
Oral Language Skill Building - rhyme, syllables
Letter Sound Fluency - most common phoneme sound 
Phonics Focus - blending sounds to read focus words
Phonics Focus - applying letter/sound knowledge to write focus words 
Rule Breaker Words - words that break the phoneme rules (e.g. the/was)
Read - decode a short text

This Early Reading Skill Builders class teaches the skills that take the guesswork out of reading. These skills will build confidence in young readers!
