Reading Christmas CVC Words with The Polar Express
In this one-time class, students are introduced to phonics and reading with Christmas holidays and The Polar Express as the major theme. Feel free to wear pajamas & sip hot cocoa as we practice letter sounds and build CVC words together!

US Grade Preschool - Kindergarten
*Note* This is not a book reading, but we will be using recognizable Christmas and holiday images from The Polar Express to focus on letter sounds, phonics, and word building with CVC word families. Each student will get a chance to speak and to sound out and read the CVC words with gentle guidance. They will enjoy learning to read the Holiday CVC words together and we will sing a special song. We will also play a fun game of memory at the end of class where the students will try to find a match. The younger students will love it! Students can feel free to wear pajamas and bring a Polar Express toy, plush, train, characters, or other toys to class, as they will each have a chance to show and tell at the beginning of class.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their phonics skills through word-building, reading CVC words, singing songs, playing an interactive game, and talking about their favorite Polar Express words! Good for both native English speakers and ESL learners.
