Class Experience

In this 2-week reading camp, we will be discussing four of Raina Telgemeier's autobiographic graphic novels in order: Smile, Sisters, and Guts and the fictional graphic novel that she wrote after these, Ghosts! Smile, Sisters, and Guts are books in a very popular, funny and warm graphic novel series that follows Raina through middle school and discusses things like bullying, family dynamics, and anxiety.

Students will read this very popular graphic novels.  They will then practice discussing books and sharing opinions and ideas with others.

Students will need to read the assigned book before our class meetings.  I will provide questions for the students to read and answer before our meeting, which will help the class discussion.

Students will need to have a copy of each of these four books:
Smile, Sisters, Guts, and Ghosts are written by Raina Telgemeier.

1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
