US Grade Kindergarten
This class will begin by learning and reviewing letter sounds and introducing CVC blends. We will introduce sight words and begin reading short stories together. Monday will be an introduction to new material and a review of material already learned. Tuesday through Wednesday we will begin class by reviewing material from the previous classes, followed by practicing blending words and recognizing sight words. We will read a short story to improve our reading skills. Thursday we will review everything learned during the week and work on comprehension by listening to a story and answering questions about the story. Course Outline: Week 1 *Introduction to the course. *List A Sight Words *Letter names and sounds List 1 and 2 Week 2 *List A Sight Words *Letter names and sounds List 2 and 3 Week 3 *List B Sight Words Letter names and sounds List 3 and 4 Week 4 *List B Sight Words *Letter names and sounds List 4 and 5 Week 5 *Review Sight Words *Review Letters *Review and evaluate ending reading levels Educational material will be provided each week for practice. Materials will include sight words, vocabulary words, and practice worksheets.

Hi! My name is Miss Kortnie. I graduated from Southern Utah University with a bachelor's degree in Psychology. I have been teaching for the last 10 years in traditional and non-traditional classrooms. These last couple of years, I have been teaching English to online students. I believe learning should be fun and exciting. Each child is different and unique. Each child learns in a different way. In my everyday life, I am a mother of 3 boys and a little girl. They are 14 years old, 12 years old, 5 years old, and 2 year old. We love to spend time outdoors playing soccer, baseball, hiking, swimming, camping, and fishing. My favorite holidays are Halloween and Christmas. My favorite color is blue. My favorite candy is peanut M & M's. My favorite ice cream is Moose Tracks. I love teaching.
