45 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
In this reading and writing class, students will learn a range of reading comprehension and writing skills that they should be able to transfer to their school life. Each week of this ongoing course will be structured around either a specific reading comprehension skill, or will teach students a specific writing skill or genre. This class is perfect for reluctant, or less confident writers as learning is scaffolded, models are provided and we talk through ideas together. Most of all - we have fun! ESL friendly. Lessons will be structured as follows - 1. Explaining the goal and skill for the lesson; 2. Looking at a sample text together, and unpacking how the skill is used; 3. Guided instruction on how to use the skill and what it is; 4. Time to practise, with feedback and guidance given. NB - these are separate skills and do not build upon each-other. Lessons can be taken as you wish. If there is a particular skill you would like me to incorporate, please let me know and I will do my best to cater.
