Description
Class Experience
Learners will develop and understanding of the content of the reading and writing portions of the SAT/ACT. They will learn essential comprehension and analysis skills and be better prepared for solo study and/or the actual tests.
As a teacher, I have worked for several years in public school with high school students to prepare them for college. My materials are all self-made and developed from my 5+ years of experience in working with past students to prepare them for standardized tests of all types.
All reading material will be provided via Google Docs or PDF. Students may want to have their own planners/notebooks for practice and note-taking, but they are not required for this course.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Students will be assessed via informal discussion and rubrics as well as the use of multiple-choice practice passages and one full-length practice test.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
No sensitive material will be presented or discussed.
All materials will be provided via video, PDF, and slideshow. Students may want to buy copies of certain books/periodicals to complete their reading plan, but materials for the course will be provided by me.
