In this ongoing class students will learn higher level phonics spelling rules such as "the three sounds of "ed" and -ge ve -dge" This is a great class for students who are already reading but need extra help on their spelling.

Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 4

In this class your child will be taught their higher level phonics spelling rules using the Orton Gillingham multi-sensory approach to learning. Students will learn how to listen for the sound, read it within a word, write it down, and find it within a text. This class is a good fit for students who can spell vowel teams and diphthongs but are looking for more challenging spelling words.

Students will know the letter name and sound.

Students will be given additional optional homework to review the skill that was previously taught

In every class students will be given a tailored printable worksheet that connects with the skill that is taught. This worksheet will be posted in the classroom 24 hours before the class starts. The following list of supplies will be needed by all students every week.

Students will be informally assessed during our lessons. If I see that your student needs easier or harder skills I will reach out to you and communicate what I'm seeing.

30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
