Each week in this ongoing class, learners will read a short book and then respond to a journal writing prompt based on the reading. Learners will be invited to share what they write, but sharing is always optional.

As children get older, they will be increasingly able to respond to literature. This class reviews and practices basic oral reading skills and provides and early opportunity to start responding to literature by making connections to the stories and responding to journal prompts based on the reading.
