In this ongoing course, learn to draw a character or create picture inspired by the illustrations of a popular children's book.
Class experience
Students will learn how to draw a character, or create art inspired by a popular children's book. During the first 5-10 minutes of class, we will read a book. Next we will draw a character from that book. Although this class is mainly a directed drawing, learners are encouraged to use their creativity to make the drawing their own. With a new book each week, we will cover a wide range of subjects. If time allows, students will share their artwork with the group at the end of class. Some...
Students will improve fine motor skills and skills in artistic expression and decision making.
The two things I love most in life is art and teaching! I have a degree in art education and have lots of experience working with young students. I think that basic understanding of art techniques and theories are important things that students should learn to not only further their art skills but also to see the beauty in the world around them!
