Description

Class Experience

Reader's theater is a strategy that combines reading practice and performing. Its goal is to enhance students' reading skills and confidence by having them practice reading with a purpose. Reader's theater gives students a real reason to read aloud.

Reader’s theater is a fun way to combine the practice of reading with performing.

Students will learn how to read with expression.

Students will understand the author’s purpose.

Students will build confidence in reading.

Students will have fun!
Reader’s theater is a literacy strategy and performative tool I have implemented in all my classes (K-college); it is one of my areas of research; I have years of experience writing and directing plays in my classroom and doing community reader’s theater at the library. I have been part of children’s theater groups and theater courses (Improvisation for Teachers) at the college level.
