In this ongoing class, readers will use Reader's Theater scripts to practice fluency and comprehension. Each week, they will choose characters, create props for the play, practice their parts, and perform. After each performance students will have time to have a snack at the "afterparty" and chat with their castmates. All Reader's Theater scripts will from Reading A to Z. The age is flexible, but readers should be reading between a 1st and 3rd grade level to actively participate. Please note that this is an ongoing class and learners can join at any time! The weekly structure will go as follows: Day 1 - shared reading of the script by teacher, choose characters, practice lines, begin decorating props Day 2 - finish props, dress rehearsal, performance, cast party with a snack February 1-3 - Mystery on the Ridge February 8-10 - Jack and the Beanstalk *more classes added soon!*
