Readers Theater Drama Class!
This class will cover topics such as history, environment, science, and mythology through dramatic reading in play form. All students will have one or more parts and will be engaged in this activity.

Plays will be sent out 5 days before class and roles assigned. I will go over some dramatic techniques at the beginning of the class and after the play is read, we can discuss the message of the play. I like to make sure all are engaged and because this is a collaborative effort to bring the play and event to life, it is usually a wonderful experience for all. Those who love drama and are good readers will gain the most benefit. DRAMA IS AMAZING! IT: Helps concentration In every session, children are encouraged to listen to each other's ideas and thoughts and to take turns. These activities allow children to recognise the value of concentration; a skill that is vital in the world outside their home. Drama encourages children to cooperate from playing drama games to improvisation to singing together, requires cooperation. Children quickly realise that to get the best out of sessions, cooperation is a much-needed skill! Drama helps children to understand the world around them I explore a range of different themes and introduce children to a variety of real and imaginary situations each week, sparking their interest in the world in which they live and making them more inquisitive.

I have taught elementary school for 22 years, always included theater in my curriculum, and have traveled the world including the Kingdom of Bhutan in the Himalayas. In Bhutan, I produced full scale musical comedies.
