Join me this summer, while we explore 5 different National Parks across the United States through literature. This is a one week summer camp, that meets 5 times for 35 minutes each day. We will work on reading comprehension (main idea/summary) and vocabulary skills along with a new story each day. My classes are very routine. We will begin by going over vocabulary words, reading the story, working on main idea/summary, and end with questions. This is not a beginner reading class, your child should be reading at a level M or higher (equivalent to a 2nd grade reading level). I do encourage engagement by asking questions and students will take turns reading the story aloud in class. You can see a break down below of the weekly stories. Day 1: Acadia National Park (Level O) Day 2: Badlands National Park (Level O) Day 3: Rocky Mountain National Park (Level O) Day 4: Yellowstone National Park (Level N) Day 5: Hawaii National Park (Level N)

Students will learn how to identify main idea.
Students will learn how to write a summery.
Students will explore national parks in the United States.
Students will work on vocabulary skills.
