Description
Class Experience
Over my years of teaching, confident readers have had an easier time accessing the curriculum. Reading is a skill and I will be going through different texts with a small group of children so that each child can feel confident in their reading ability. This is a class for older elementary or early middle school children who are struggling with reading simple texts. Reading is a very important skill and it doesn't come easy to everyone. This is where I come in - I am here to support...

Children will be asked to read 5 minutes a day of an age appropriate text to maintain their reading skills independently- these can be comics, library books or their own reading book. Read over 5 - 10 words a day to a grown up.
1 file available upon enrollmentI will be using Google slides with ebooks and share via Zoom. The thumbnail has a screen shot of these.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I will be providing feedback to you as a parent in comment form in a similar style to a report card / school report excerpt so that you can also use this when talking to your child's tutor or class teacher and compare notes.
25 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
We will be talking about different topics and they will be listed on the course. You can sign up as you like and for what topic interests and is appropriate for your child.
