Description
Class Experience
In this ongoing class, beginning readers will discover and learn about a new word family each week. We will begin each class with a warm-up lesson. I will then read a short story and have the students identify words that match our day’s featured word family. After identifying our matching words, students will practice letter sounds and start sounding out words in the word family. We will conclude our lesson with a wrap-up game using our new blending skills. If time permits, students will have...

Readers will learn to blend, write, and read consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) words.
I am a credentialed multiple subject elementary school teacher.
25 minutes per week in class, and some optional time outside of class for learning reinforcement.
A one-page printout will be provided for every class. Students may use plain paper if unable to access a printer. Please bring a pencil to class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Informal Assessment Observation through wrap-up game.
