Description
Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
Students will use graphic organizers for comprehension. Students will use vocabulary strategies for comprehension. Students will write complete paragraphs. Students will write complete essays. Students will identify author's perspective and purpose. Students will identify main idea and details.
I have a Master of Arts in Education with an Emphasis in Reading. I taught Second Grade for one year before becoming a Preschool Disability Teacher. I have taught for three years now. I have a license to teach PK-3rd Grade and a special education license for Preschool. I have experience working with Neurodivergent learners.
Weekly homework will be assigned. Prior to each week's class, I will include research materials for learners in the classroom about the upcoming topic, such as journal articles, that they can access during class writer's workshop and use with their writing. Homework will include: Journal prompt - There will be an assigned writing prompt each week for learners to answer in their journal. Research Materials - Materials relating to the upcoming week's topic, such as journal articles, will be posted in the classroom each week. Learners will be asked to look over the materials, highlight important facts, and take notes. They will use their notes during Writer's Workshop in class.

1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
External Sources: * Canva and Google Slides - I use Canva and Slides to display content and material to students. They will not click any links or use the program on their own. * Kahoot - Learners have the opportunity to interact on Kahoot in games and activities. The link will be provided in the classroom. Learners are able to click the link and play the Kahoot game. They do not need an account, but the site will ask them to write a name.
