Hello and welcome to my classroom! During this class, we will focus on reading comprehension with the use of short and interesting texts. We will start by discussing the topic to activate prior knowledge for the students, review key vocabulary, read the texts thoroughly identifying key details, and we will finish by answering comprehension questions utilizing the information provided in the text. This class will be students lead so that they can become comfortable reading text independently and utilizing key information within the text to help strengthen their comprehension. The text/stories change with every class so you can definitely enroll you learner in multiple sessions. *No prior experience or knowledge required* **If the minimum student enrollment is not me there is a chance that the class will be canceled**

I am a Norfolk State University graduate with a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies ann an English Pre K-6 endorsement. I currently hold an active Virginia State teaching license. I am currently a 5th grade classroom teacher and have also been a classroom teacher for 3rd and 4th grade.
I believe that reading is one of the most important gifts that can be given and every child deserves a wonderful and fantastic experience!
