Beginner Level
During this series of fun and interactive lessons, children will learn the French language through drawing, games and conversations. Ms. Colleen is a bilingual (French and English) teacher who has been sharing fun language lessons with children for many years. Her patient and calm teaching style helps children who are new to foreign language learning feel confident and at ease. No prior experience with French is necessary. Each week learners will practice reading and speaking French. We will go slowly and make sure each concept is grasped by the learners. The small class size of each session ensures individual attention for each learner. Printed materials and/or online games will be provided each week to help reinforce what is learned in class. This is not a French Immersion class. Instruction is mostly given in English , but learners are encouraged to speak French as much as they can. Worksheets and vocabulary lists will be provided before each class. Week 1 La Maison Learners will learn the parts of the house in French by drawing and adding exterior and interior details to a house. Learners will describe their drawings to their classmates. Week 2 L'Arbre Learners will draw and learn to describe the parts of a tree in French. Week 3 La Ferme Learners will draw several farm animals and a barn and will learn and use some farm vocabulary. Week 4 Le Visage et Le Corps Learners will draw a detailed face and a body while learning the French words for the parts of the body. Week 5 Mon Animal Préféré Learners will learn the words for a variety of common pets and will draw and speak about their favourite pet. Week 6 L'Océan Learners will draw a submarine and other under water objects as well as ocean life and will talk about their drawings.
Learning Goals
Learners will gain an understanding of French vocabulary words in context while improving their drawing skills an having fun.

Pre-Requisites
This class is perfect for beginner and intermediate French learners.
Supply List
Learners will need a pencil and eraser, white paper , and colouring pencils. Access to a printer is also recommended.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
