1. Students will identify the title and author of the biographical story, David Beckham. 2. Students will identify the genre of the story as "nonfiction" and "biography." 3. Students will correctly pronounce and define these vocabulary words: summary, talented, professional, competitor, famous, incredible, captain, league 4. Students will identify the Table of Contents. 5. Students will use a book report organizer to take notes and record information as they read the text. 6. Students will describe differences between "facts" and "opinions." 7. Students will use information from the book report organizer to write a book report.
I am an engaging, interactive teacher who clearly introduces new information, models new skills, offers guided skill practice, and provides positive feedback as students independently practice and master skills. I teach communication skills that help youth and adults strengthen relationships, set appropriate boundaries, and resolve conflict. I empower youth with goal-setting strategies and peer leadership coaching. I equip teens and youth leadership teams with skills and tools to create powerful action plans with attainable goals. Students will complete a book report organizer in class. They will use this information gathered in Day 1 of the first class to begin writing a book report in Day 2 of the second class. Students will finish the book report for homework.
