In this class, we will read a variety of science books. We will read about 2 or 3 books per class, depending on time and conversation. Books topics will range from scientists (Ada Twist Scientist by Andrea Beaty and Iggy Peck Architect by Andrea Beaty) space (Three Little Aliens and the Big Bad Robot by Margaret McNamara and A Moon of My Own by Jennifer Rustgi), the human body (Me and My Amazing Body by Joan Sweeney and Parts by Tedd Arnold), animals (Giraffes Can't Dance by Giles Andraea and Sleep Like a Tiger by Mary Logue), rocks (A Rock is Lively by Devin Dennie and Charlotte and the Rock by Stephen Martin), and weather (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs by Judi Barrett and Singing in the Rain by Tim Hopgood)! The books for each class will have a cohesive theme and there will be discussions during and after the books. I will read them to students and will allow students to ask questions and share their thoughts frequently. Students should come to class with a love of exploring!
