This ongoing course is designed to engage young learners in the world around them using news articles from the Twinkl News Room. The articles are purpose written for the age group and contain safe, balanced age-appropriate coverage of international news stories. Topics will be as varied as the news; ensuring learners engage with a wide range of subjects and gain confidence in discussing age appropriate issues and expressing their opinions based on unbiased factual evidence. Students will learn/improve their core reading skills - vocabulary, retrieval, inference, prediction, summary and compare and contrast- based on the UK National Curriculum.
