Class Experience

Learners will be able to blend letters together to read and write simple CVC words and phrases and apply what they learn to multisyllabic words. 
I am a licensed PreK-Grade 3 teacher with a M.S. in Elementary Education with a focus in Reading. In over 20 years as an educator, I have had extensive training and experience with phonics instruction and  coaching young readers. I am passionate about encouraging a love of reading and writing in my students through interactive, multi-sensory lessons. 
A weekly summary of lessons will be provided for up to 15 minutes of additional practice. 
Students will need something to write with. A "sound mapping" template and handwriting page will be provided, but not required. If you do not have a printer, regular paper will be fine. For certain lessons, students will also need 3 small objects (coins, paperclips, Lego bricks). 
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
