In this 6-week course, we will read, discuss, and adventure through the lives of students at Bailey Elementary School in books 1 through 5 by co-authors Debbie Dadey and Marcia Thornton Jones.
Class experience
Rather Be Reading is a book club that meets once a week to discuss the week's reading assignments. Each week will begin with a review of the week's chapters and check the readers' comprehension of characters, plot, and other story elements. We will extend the reading through fun, engaging activities to make text-to-text, text-to-self, and text-to-world connections. It follows Outschool's Class Content Policy and focuses on the instruction and process of letter writing. Though the focus is reading discussions and literacy activities, it is possible for some learners to share their belief or nonbelief of Santa, and views of Christmas (when reading the third book 'Santa Claus Doesn't Mop Floors').
