Class Experience
Rainforest ecosystems are some of the most biodiverse ecosystems in the world. Relative to their small size, there are an incredible amount of plants and animals that call the rainforests home! While life in the rainforest may seem simple, extreme competition for nutrients, light, and many other resources have caused plants and animals to develop some incredible adaptations! In this one-time session, we will discuss what major characteristics define a rainforest ecosystem and how rainforests...
Learners will understand the 4 rainforest layers and characteristics of each. Learners will be able to describe how water and nutrients flow throughout a rainforest ecosystems. Learners will become familiar with various rainforest plants and animals and the adaptations that help them survive in the rainforest.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
