In this one-time art class, students will learn to draw a portrait of a tiger, using colored pencil (head to shoulders).

Intermediate - Advanced Level
In this one-time drawing class, students will learn to draw a realistic portrait of a tiger, using colored pencil (head to shoulders). Students are welcome to come to class with fun facts to share about tigers if they want. I will also share a few fun facts about these animals throughout class while we draw. During class, I will demonstrate each step and have students complete that step along with me. My classroom is a calm, fun, and creative environment where discussion between teacher...
1. Students will learn techniques for sketching a proportionate contour drawing (outline) of a tiger (head to shoulders). 2. Students will learn techniques for smooth blending, pencil application, gradient blending, and adding contrast. 3. Students will learn techniques for layering colored pencil to create realistic coloring and fur texture. 4. Students will learn a few facts about tigers.
1 file available upon enrollment-Paper -Everyday pencil or drawing pencils -Everyday eraser and/or kneaded eraser -Blending tool (blending stumps, tissue, Q-tips, or you can just use your fingers if you don't have any of the previously listed supplies) -Colored Pencils: tan, reddish brown, brown, yellow, white, black, and green Optional: white gel pen
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
