In this one-time art class, students will learn to draw a full body portrait of a boa constrictor snake, using pencil.
Class experience
In this one-time drawing class, students will learn to draw a realistic, full body portrait of a boa constrictor snake, using pencil. Students are welcome to come to class with fun facts to share about snakes if they want. I will also share a few fun facts about these animals throughout class while we draw. During class, I will demonstrate each step for students and have students complete that step along with me. My classroom is a calm, fun, and creative environment where discussion...
1. Students will learn techniques for sketching a proportionate contour drawing (outline) of a boa constrictor snake (full body). 2. Students will learn techniques for smooth blending, pencil application, gradient blending, and adding contrast. 3. Students will learn techniques for creating scaly and patterned skin on their snake drawings. 4. Students will learn a few facts about boa constrictor snakes.
1 file available upon enrollment-Paper -Everyday pencil or drawing pencils -Everyday eraser and/or kneaded eraser -Blending tool (blending stumps, tissue, Q-tips, or you can just use your fingers if you don't have any of the previously listed supplies)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
