In this one-time art class, students will learn to draw a full body portrait of a boa constrictor snake, using pencil.

Class experience

  • 1. Students will learn techniques for sketching a proportionate contour drawing (outline) of a boa constrictor snake (full body). 2. Students will learn techniques for smooth blending, pencil application, gradient blending, and adding contrast. 3. Students will learn techniques for creating scaly and patterned skin on their snake drawings. 4. Students will learn a few facts about boa constrictor snakes.
 1 file available upon enrollment
-Paper -Everyday pencil or drawing pencils -Everyday eraser and/or kneaded eraser -Blending tool (blending stumps, tissue, Q-tips, or you can just use your fingers if you don't have any of the previously listed supplies)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Please be aware that this course uses materials that may be harmful to your student if used inappropriately.  If you think your student may use any class materials inappropriately and/or potentially cause harm, please provide adult supervision for your student.
