Materials and Ingredients needed:

1 box white cake mix PLUS ingredients to prepare cake mix
2 muffin/Cupcake pans
paper or silicone cupcake liners
food coloring liquid or gel will work fine--at least 2-4 colors is preferred
rubber spatula
toothpicks
Small Paper/plastic/glass bowls for however many colors of cake learner wants, with a spoon in each one
1 container prepared white icing (any flavor) 
We will dye icing 2-3 colors--will need 3 small bowls and spoons to dye icing
3 piping bags with small to medium sized circle tips OR 3 sandwich or quart sized ziploc bags and scissors to cut tip in bags
**Electric hand mixer or stand mixer is super helpful, but not absolutely mandatory for class!** You will need a large whisk to mix up your cake batter if no electric mixer is used
1 drinking cup
OVEN access required
Oven Mitts

Optional: Apron, cooling racks, sprinkles, decorations etc to finish off cupcakes!

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Parental Guidance may be needed during class we will be using an electric hand/stand mixer to make our cake batter and may require a grown up to place cupcakes in the oven and assist learner when needed. This will depend on the learner's skillset and knowledge and experience. Some younger learners may need assistance during certain steps of the class.
