Rainbow Fish Story Time and Craft Fun

In this one time class children will hear the story The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister read aloud and then paint a paper plate with water colors to create their own rainbow fish.

Class Experience

The students will learn about friendship and including others from this story. They will also learn about how to properly use water color paints to paint their paper plate. 
No homework will be assigned. The story will be read aloud to the children, and the project will be completed during class. 
1. a paper plate 2. Water color paints with a small paint brush- to paint the plate 3. a scissors- to cut a triangle for the mouth of the fish (Please supervise young children while using scissors.) 4. a stapler- to staple the tail fin to the fish 4. a black marker- to draw the eye on the fish or a craft wiggly eye if you have one 5. Glue- if you are using a wiggly eye to glue it on 6. A small cup or container of water for the water color paints
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
I will be informally observing the children’s engagement and interest in the story and in completing the art project during the class.  
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
There is no content in the course that would be geared toward more mature students.
