I have 29 years of teaching experience in Early Childhood Education teaching kindergarten and first grade with a B.S in Education with Early Childhood, ESL and Gifted and talented endorsements. I have a strong passion for teaching reading . In my brick and mortar classroom I led four guided reading groups a day. I had 94% of my students on or above grade level by end of year on reading assessments. I would love the opportunity to work with your student!
Letter naming with flashcards is also encouraged if having trouble mastering letters. I will include a letter naming fluency sheet and a first sound fluency and cvc word practice board for students to review after class at home. These activities are timed and should take one minute each. (5 minutes a day)
I will send practice activities to work on after each class.
I will take notes during class on your child's progress and send notes of strength and weakness to you after class.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
