⭐️It's fun and interesting to learn about holidays from around the world! Come learn about a Korean holiday and why Koreans enjoy eating persimmons! Using quilling paper art, we will make a card together, displaying a persimmon. Are you new to quilling? No problem! I'll help guide you through all of the steps!⭐️ What is Quilling❓ The art of quilling, which dates back to the 1500s, is using thin strips of colorful paper and turning them around an object to make coils. I've taught this class before for SchoolLive, a South Korean platform. The SchoolLive staff member specifically asked me to teach this class, and made sure I had proper knowledge of the holiday. The holiday, Chuseok, will not be taught about in depth, only the basics. The main focus of the class is the quilling paper art.
✂️ Learner Supply List:✂️ suggested quilling paper or construction/copier paper colors - 3 orange, 2 brown, 2 green liquid glue scissors pencil or quilling needle blank note card or cardstock, as the base marker If your learner has quilling tools, that is great, but it's not required for this class! If you do decide to order your learner a quilling tool set, I would like to suggest this one that I purchased from Amazon for around $20. https://a.co/d/jbVXhfK
✂️Scissors can be sharp. Also, if you choose to order quilling tools for your learner, please take note that they are sharp as well. Please keep a close eye 👀 on your learner during this class. Some parental assistance may be required for some learners.
I will screen share portions of two different books from EPIC for Kids: South Korea, by: Jennifer A. Miller This book shows a celebratory meal for Chuseok. Spotlight on South Korea, by: Bobbie Kalman This book shows how farmers do a special dance for the harvest at Chuseok.
