This class is taught in Spanish.

Students will use the topic of John F. Kennedy to speak in Spanish.  For some students this means growing their confidence and vocabulary.  For other students it is an opportunity to have a book club in the Spanish language to continue literacy growth.  Students also get to learn some of the nuances of translating from one language to another.  

Teacher is a life-long Spanish speaker and has a bachelor's and a master's degree in Spanish as well as a graduate certificate in translation.  

Please read the book "¿Quién fue John F. Kennedy?" [in Spanish] prior to attending our class.  The Spanish version of this book is available on Amazon in paperback.  If it is their own book, the student is encouraged to highlight or underline in the book, fold down the page corners or stick in post-its, as they come across new vocabulary, questions, and interesting points for conversation. When reading the digital format of the book, it is a good idea for students to have a pencil and paper with them to write down any words or phrases they may have questions about or anything that strikes them as interesting for discussion points.  It may also be helpful for them to mark where in the book they see these words, phrases, or topics.  

50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
