In this weekly intermediate French class, students will be asked to bring an object to class. They should be prepared to share their object with the class. The goal of this class is to learn how to use descriptive adjectives in French. This class will begin with introductions, followed by an overview of theme-specific adjectives on a PowerPoint. Each week, students will be shown an example of how to apply adjectives and then they will take turns using adjectives to describe their objects. If time permits, we will also practice describing additional objects on the PowerPoint. The themes are as follows: Week 1: Animals (stuffed or pets) Week 2: Fruit and Vegetables Week 3: Kitchen-related objects (for example a spoon, a bowl, a silicone mat, etc.) Week 4: Outdoor objects (flowers, sticks, leaves, etc.) Week 5: Bedroom-related objects (for example, clothes, pillows, rugs, etc.) An example of an object would be: A stuffed bear for week 1. I might describe it as: Un petit ours brun. As this is a class where students bring objects, each class is different and does not build on the previous class. It also means students can retake this class as many times as they want! This class is an intermediate French class, so students should have at least 6 months of French experience under their belts before coming to this class. This class will be primarily conducted in French, so students should be able to understand and speak French before joining. As student interaction is the base for this class, a working camera and microphone is required.
Learning Goals
Students will learn descriptive adjectives in French.
