Class Experience

Can you complete the quest before time runs out? In this class, we will take a virtual road trip across the United States and visit historical landmarks, locations, and museums that Percy and his friends traveled to in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians book series! At each location, learners will break codes, solve riddles, ciphers, trivia questions, and more to complete the quest!

Learners must be able to read independently and type. On some puzzles, students will compete against each other and on other puzzles, they will work as a team. A good knowledge of the Percy Jackson book series is very helpful in this class!

My goal is to create a safe learning environment where students are invited to share their ideas and interact with their peers. I always bring an open mind, a positive attitude to my lessons.

Learning Goals

Students will learn more about the following locations: the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Bermuda Triangle, Alcatraz Island, the Empire State Building, and Mount Tamalpais. Additionally, students will use problem solving, creativity, and critical thinking.

Parental Guidance
Greek mythology has some more intense subject matter such as violence and death that may arise in discussion. I will guide the discussions away from these topics and only touch on these aspects briefly as part of the stories . If your child is sensitive to these topics please monitor their engagement in the lesson and be available in case they need your reassurance. Weapons owned by the Greek Gods might also be shown or discussed (e.g. Poseidon's trident).
