In this class, students will learn how to tell time in French. We will learn to say and spell the numbers on the clock through drills, voice variation and repetition. Students will learn how to answer the question: Quelle heure est-il? They will also learn how to talk about the various times of day (morning, afternoon, evening, night). Students in this class will be able to see a PowerPoint and interact with each other and the teacher. Previous French experience is not required, as this is an introductory one-time class to telling time in French. In order for all students to hear me in class, I employ a strict muting policy. I will unmute students one at a time so they can work with me, and all students will have many opportunities to speak. Young students may need a parent to help them unmute. I go over the muting policy each class as a reminder to students. Additionally, due to Outschool policy, students must identify themselves on camera at least once at the beginning of class.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to identify the numbers on the clock in French and be able to answer the question: Quelle heure est-ill? With: Il est ____ heures. or Il est midi/minuit.
