Description
Class Experience
I have loved history since I read a play about Charlemagne in my 9th grade social studies class. While I specialize in European history I can't turn down a good book, documentary or class about the past. I have passed on that love to my own children as well as others I have had the pleasure and opportunity to assist and teach in my local public school system. Aside from my vast knowledge from books I earned a minor in history from Ashford University. I can't wait to pass my love and knowledge on to others.
Notebook and sharpened pencils
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Student will be required to complete a paragraph about a topic we learned and discussed during the lesson. This will help them gage whether they have retained knowledge on this subject.
1 hour 15 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
As always, history is littered with adultery, murder, betrayal, and other savory topics. Please be advised that we will be touching on some of these topics in an appropriate, respectful, and historical manner.
I have studied for many years and have read numerous books while completing my degree and afterwards, and viewed many documentaries. This is not a complete list of the sources that compile my knowledge. However, Here are a few books and videos/documentaries that I have used to build my knowledge over the years: Books~ Isabella of Castile: Europe's First Great Queen by Giles Tremlett Isabella the Warrior Queen by Kirsten Downey Ferdinand and Isabella by John Edwards Videos~ The Spanish Inquisition by the History Channel
