This is an interactive online course that encourages student participation. Students will learn through slideshows, question and answer discussions, video clips and online learning games. Week 1: Hola! We're going to learn about numbers and colors using memory games. Week 2: Buenas! This week we will learn all about basic greetings and how to describe people's physical features. Week 3: Aprendemos! We will learn how to talk about our family. We will use videos and drawing activities to help your child to hablar español! Week 4: Que rico! Let's talk about typical Spanish food and drinks. Students will learn how to identify basic pantry ingredients for a simple Mexican Churro recipe. We will also learn how to say I'm hungry and I'm thirsty. Week 5: Los pasatiempos! What do you like to do for fun? We will learn about clothing and hobbies. Week 6: Through music students will enjoy a lesson on holidays, popular places to visit and life in Spanish speaking countries. Week 7: Adonde vas? Students will learn all about transportation. Week 8: Los animales! We will learn how to describe our pets and other animals. Week 9: Las peliculas y la musica! We will talk about entertainment including television, movies, music and zoos. Week 10: Hablamos! Let's take a virtual tour of Spain and see what life is like there. We will learn about special events, holidays and much more. We will play Kahoot to review!
Learning Goals
Students will learn useful basic Spanish words and phrases.

Students will need the following items: A lined notebook, pencils/pens, markers or colored pencils and paper.
