Class Experience

FYI- Please only enroll a student in this class, if the student has some basic knowledge of Python programming.
If the student needs some basic Python programming, you can enroll the student in my first basic Python class.

Pizza Ordering System:
You may have seen people ordering pizza from an app or a website.
How does someone choose different options while ordering a pizza?
For example-
how can a user add toppings to his/her pizza?
how to choose delivery or pickup option?
how to choose the pizza size?

In this class, students will learn how to create a pizza ordering system using some new and previously learnt Python programming concepts.

Agenda:
Intro to the project and pseuducode writing (15 mins)
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Students will be introduced to the project and encouraged to write pseudocode to discover the steps that are needed for the project. pseudocode is not a programming language. That means it doesn't have any proper syntax. It is a simple way of describing a set of instructions that will guide students to write their code in Python.

Python Concepts (25 mins)
---------------------------------
Several concepts will be explained that are needed to complete this project.
Student will able to practice the learnt concepts after the explanations.

Coding & Debugging (45 mins)
------------------------------------------
Once they understand and practice the concepts, they will use an online compiler to write their code in Python. The compiler is interactive which means it will accept inputs from an user.
This project requires students to write around 60 lines of code so it is expected that students will have errors in their codes. If they do not get enough time to debug and complete the project, a simplified version of the project will be made. Students will then practice at home to improve the design of their pizza ordering system.
Sharing and Discussion (5 mins)
--------------------------------------------
In the last part of the class, students will need to share their results and identify the areas where they struggled the most and how they overcame or failed to resolve any issue. Students can ask questions and other students can share their thoughts which will help students to have a rich discussion at the end.

Learning Goals

Students will
- learn some new Python concepts
- engaged in the class to practice the learned concepts
- debug their codes
- collaborate with others to resolve an issue
- discuss about the problems
- complete the pizza ordering system
