US Grade 7 - 10
Beginner Level
Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey into the world of data visualization? Join our interactive Python Matplotlib class designed for kids, where you'll unlock the power of Matplotlib, one of the most popular plotting libraries in Python.

What is Matplotlib?
Matplotlib is a versatile and user-friendly library that enables you to create stunning and informative visualisations. Whether you want to analyze data, create graphs, or build interactive plots, Matplotlib provides the tools and flexibility to bring your ideas to life!

Who is this class for?
Our class is perfect for kids who are eager to learn and explore the creative possibilities of data visualization. Learners must be able to write and read and prior programming knowledge is an advantage

What will you learn?
In this class, you will:
1.Understand the fundamentals of data visualization and its importance.
2.Learn the basics of Matplotlib, including setting up a graph, customising plots, and adding labels and annotations.
3. Dive into various plot types such as line plots, scatter plots, bar plots, histograms, and more.
4.Discover advanced techniques to enhance your visualisations, such as colour maps, subplots, and 3D plots.
5. Explore real-life examples and use cases, showcasing how Matplotlib can be applied in various fields.

How does the class work?
Our class follows a hands-on approach, where you and your child will actively engage in coding exercises and practical examples. Learners will be coding along with the teacher.

Lesson plan:
Day 1: Introduction to graphs and data visualisation , plotting the markers on the graph
Day 2 : Using scatterplot , Histogram and piechart
Day 3: Plot customisation - changing colours etc.
Day 4: Using pandas - working with data sets
Day 5: 3d plots
Day 6: Review - a quick recap of all we have done so far before we get our hands on the final project
Day 7 and 8 : Final project creating graphs using video game data sets.

Unleash your creativity, explore the power of Matplotlib, and create captivating visualisations
Learning Goals
Learners will understand data analysis
Learners will develop a deep understanding of using Python for data analysis
