Class Experience

This is a six-session online class, learners will be guided on how to code using Python. We will start with some programming terminology and dive into Python coding programs. Learners will learn how to identify program errors and debug them along the way, which is very important. The course will start from the very beginning on getting familiar with Python and moving on from simple coding to more complex coding. This online course will mimic my 6-session live Python course yet give learners the advantage of learning the content on their own time and working at their own pace. The instructor will be available to answer any coursework questions.

After each session, there will be a short Python programming activity or exercise that learners will complete enhancing the learning process.

COURSE OUTLINE:

Session 1:
Introduction to Python
Using a Python Interpreter
Output with Print Function

Session 6:
Programming a Simple Game

This is a FLEX class. There will be NO LIVE meetings. The benefits are (1) students can participate and do the coursework any time during the length of the course, (2) students with different time zones and even different countries can share and learn together, and (3) students can review course materials over and over again during the length of the course.

Students will learn Python programming via videos and be assigned to code a Python program at the end of each session. Each week’s content will be uploaded on Monday by noon ET. All interactions will occur in the Outschool classroom.

SUMMARY: This is a FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE CLASS with NO LIVE MEETINGS. However, there will be videos and homework assignments personally reviewed and graded by the instructor.

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
Teaching has been my career for a long time now. What I love about teaching is seeing my students learn new things and taking that knowledge to further their growth in life.

I am a professional college educator. I hold an MBA, and I have taught learners from preschool to adult years. Courses I teach are Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Python Programming, Scratch coding, Introduction to Computers, Protect your Computers, Hardware, Research, MLA formatting, Commas and Semicolons, Homophones, and others.

I have been teaching and working with computers for a long time now. I know how important it is to keep abreast of the changing technology. Therefore, I want to teach learners the knowledge I gain from my experience.

There are two English classes I teach, which evolve as a result of an ha-ha moment after reading thousands of essays written by college students. I realized that learners need to grasp the fundamentals of any subject matter before attending college. That way, they are prepared and ready to tackle the college level stuff and not the rudimentary.

In my spare time, I love to go for walks in wooded areas with creeks. I also love to go to the beach.

Thank you for reading “About Me,” and I hope you get to know a little bit about my profession and personal life.
