Python Coding Private Classes 1:1 Class (12 Sessions)

This is a 1:1 private class where your child will spend quality learning time with one of our experienced computer science teachers. Please request the schedule you prefer in Outschool and we will follow up with you to arrange the exact date/time for the class. We offer once-a-week, twice-a-week, daily, or any other customized schedules for you. Below is the sample lesson plan for beginners. Based on your level and pace, the program is customized. We use online editor Repl.it or alternatively download VSCode for this course.

If you're new to programming, or if you want to update your skill set, Python is a great language to pick and is much in demand. 

Lesson 1-Setting up Python - The teacher will assist in downloading and installation to set up Python for the students. (the teacher will give option for VS code/ online editor like sublime or Pycharm for installation)

Lesson 2-Python Basics
We are going to take a look at a basic introduction to programming with the Python language.

Lesson 3- Python Variables
Students take a look at the most basic fundamental data structure that they need to learn about in Python, or really any programming language-- and those are variables. Students will use variables to store information inside of our program, and we're also going to go ahead and write our first program.

Lesson 4-Input and Output
Students will learn on how to get input from the user, from the keyboard, and print output on the screen to the terminal window, with Python Terminal Window programming.

Lesson 5- and If...Then...Else
We are going to take a look at the conditional statement inside of Python, more commonly known as if-then-else statements. Almost every language has some variation of this. It's an important logical clause inside of programming.

Lesson 6-Loops
Students will learn on how to implement looping code structures inside of the Python programming language.

Lesson 7- Collections
Students will learn on how to work with collections of data inside of the Python programming language.

Lesson 8- Functions
We are going to take a look at the role that functions play inside of the Python programming language. Functions are cool logical construct that a lot of programming languages offer.

Lesson 9- Error Handling
We will take a look at how to handle, entrap, and report specific errors that come up when your Python program executes. Error handling is a really important, and what are basic task that you need to perform inside of any code that you write will be taught.

Lesson 10 – Review
All taught subject is reviewed and practiced to guarantee students are knowledgeable and capable enough to create their own projects from scratch.

Lesson 11 – Final Project (2 days)
The students will create their own program from what they have learned throughout the class and learn how to debug it.
