Put Down Your Fork: Using Math at a Restaurant (Addition and Subtraction)

Students will learn interesting ways to use basic math while at a restaurant.
Class experience
US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
LEVEL 1 (Numbers up to 20/Addition and Subtraction ONLY): Students will be able to sharpen their basic math facts for addition and subtraction during these interactive sessions. They will be able to solve equations/unknowns during part of this session. I will lead students through lessons on how to use the items found on the table of an ordinary restaurant. They can use the skills I teach them when with other children or with adults as they dine out. Addition and Subtraction [Using Positives...
1. Addition and subtraction without writing, but through modeling. 2. Adding and subtracting negative numbers through modeling. 3. Solving basic equations.
My two boys (15 and 18) learned math using some of these very same techniques. Now, they are in advanced math. I also taught middle school Mathematics.
