This class will be very adaptive to the interests of the learners. Although I will have a presentation prepared with photographs and information about Costa Rica that I think will be of interest to all, I will change the class and my focus depending on the questions that students are most curious to know more about. I will lead the class so that by the end, students have developed a general understanding of what daily life in Costa Rica is like, how Costa Ricans ("Ticos") are, and what are the important values and customs in this beautiful country. Since Costa Rica is a champion of sustainability and conservation, I will also focus on how these topics are ingrained in the daily life of a Tico.
Learning Goals
In this class, students will learn:
*Where is Costa Rica?
*What are some of the customs and everyday habits of Costa Ricans?
*What is it like to move to a new country? What are the struggles and benefits of living abroad?
*What are some of the sustainable efforts that Costa Rica has implemented? How has this impacted daily life in Costa Rica?

I moved to Costa Rica from Georgia (USA) in 2014. Since moving to Costa Rica, I have become completely integrated in the culture and language, albeit with a lot of struggles and adjustments! I now feel that Costa Rica is my forever home, and I love to share my experience with others. Costa Rica is a beautiful country full of amazing people, great food and coffee, and beautiful nature. Let's explore!
