Learners will be instructed how to train their dog a new command or trick each week using positive or force free methods. They will also play fun games with their dogs and receive facts and gain expert advice about dog training issues.

In this fun, engaging flex training course, this successful Certified Dog Trainer/Teacher will be teaching learners how to train their own dogs basic obedience using positive techniques and commands. In this 4 week flex course, we will be learning how to train commands to our dogs such as sit, stay, recall, place, loose leash walking, leave-it, etc. We will also learn tricks and play games with our dogs. Further, we will discuss our favorite dog breeds and learn how to bond with our four legged friends! Students will be given a task to complete via video and/or post. This class occurs using asynchronous messaging on the Outschool platform, and does not meet live over video so student will respond via posts in the classroom. Teacher is available for help as needed with a 24 hour turnaround time. The class should take 30 minutes to view and practice for each command per day. Course 1: Week 1: Theme: Commands: "Sit, sit-stay" Week 2: Theme: Commands: "Down", Trick: "Puppy Push Ups" Week 3: Commands: "Controlled walking, recall" Week 4: Commands: "Leave it and Drop" - Game: "The Drop Game"
Learning Goals
Students will improve their skills in training their own dogs to listen and obey commands. They will learn ideas to solve problems
of various behavior issues in their dogs. Additional goals are to have fun and learn how to have positive experience with their dogs or puppies. The learner will strengthen the bond of communication and interaction between human and dog.

My lesson is about learning how to teach commands and the sit-stay command, and name recognition. They will play a game, "The Name Game." 1 assignment

Lesson 3:
Controlled or Loose Leash Walking and Recall
My lesson is about how to get your dog to walk nicely on a leash and teaching them to come when called. Lesson 4:
Command: Leave It and Drop
My lesson is about teaching your dog to leave and drop things. We will play a game using two of the same or similar squeaky toys. 7 mins of video lessons
Other Details
Learning Needs
This class will adapt to any special needs indicated by learner. The teacher will use visuals, hand signals, repeating and reducing instructions, slowing down speech among other adaptions as indicated by learner.
Parental Guidance
Dogs are unpredictable and may not always learn at the same pace. Puppies should be older than 3 months. Children must have control of their dog and be able to follow directions.
