Parental Guidance
Please be nearby to assist with mute/unmute as needed. I try to keep learners unmuted with such a small class and to help work on turn-taking skills but sometimes help is needed. I thank you in advance for your help in this.

Hello! I'm Ms. Jennie, and I am SO excited to be teaching on Outschool! I have 5 years of teaching experience in the public schools (Preschool-2nd) as a certified Early Childhood Educator/Special Ed. (with ESL and LBS 1 endorsements). I have experience in a variety of classroom settings including self-contained settings, small group and individual interventions, and Preschool For All to name a few. One unique experience I have had was teaching in Houston, Texas for an internship in a Preschool Montessori classroom with students who were considered at risk.I have a minor in Psychology and strongly believe in building/teaching social-emotional skills both explicitly as well as in the natural moment from a very young age!
My Philosophy:
Children are naturally curious of the world around them. Research shows that when you can provide meaningful experiences that connect with the child’s natural interest, it enhances their learning and engagement. I believe in this as well as that learning can be fun and exciting, so long as especially as a teacher I cater to each of my student’s unique strengths and interests and teach in a multi-modal ways. In addition, I believe that every student can learn, it just may not be in the same way or on the same day as others. Each student and family brings their own set of knowledge and instead of focusing on the "I can't do this", this class focuses on the "I can" and rephrases "I can't" to " I cannot yet." <Growth Mindset vs. Fixed Mindset>
~Sometimes the greatest things we can do for children is instilling the confidence in them to believe that they can and will.~
