50 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Be ready to move! We will learn about manipulating glove puppets and hand/rod puppets plus see examples of different types of puppets. Learners will get the most out of this class if they are able to participate with their cameras on for the majority of the time so they can practice skills. No former knowledge is required. Please make sure the computer/device is located in a space where the participant can move around freely with a clear floor space. In compliance with safety protocols, all participants will be required to enable the video at the very beginning of the class.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about puppet manipulation and be able to practice skills under the tutelage of a professional puppeteer.

Supply List
Hand puppets are great to have but not required. Bring a spoon (yes, a spoon), your hands, maybe a sock -- you will be good to go. BONUS: Participants will see a few ways to create instant puppets at home.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University
I have been performing with puppets for over 20 years and love to teach skills to young people. Because children's hands are still growing and developing, this class is strictly for ages 7 and up. If you have questions, please contact Heidi. Thanks!
