Description
Class Experience
During this class, students will learn how to read closely using the engaging article "Why Do Zoo Animals Get Pumpkins?" We will first discuss what it means to complete a close read of the text. I will read the entire text aloud with learners while displaying each chunk for them to follow along with me. While reading, we will stop periodically to discuss vocabulary, make connections, ask questions and talk about the text, as well as look back in the article to cite evidence to support our...
Students will improve their understanding of close reading a text and will learn strategies for correctly answering text-based questions.
I have been teaching middle school Reading and Language Arts for more than 18 years. I specialize in reading skills/strategies, step by step writing instruction, and working with students at their own individual levels. I am a certified teacher, so state scholarship funds can be used for your learner to enroll with me. Please message me for more information!
